Members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3830 (Pahoa) and its Auxiliary are holding their 1st Annual Oktoberfest, a communitywide celebration taking place Saturday at Herbert Shipman Park in Keaau.

The festivities are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will include a full day of entertainment and activities for attendees of all ages.

Oktoberfest will feature a wide variety of attractions for the whole family, including “Weiner Dog Weiner Nationals,” beer garden, a kid’s area with inflatables, carnival-style games and competitions such as beer stein holding and three-legged race relays.

Guests will enjoy live music from “Gringo Star” while enjoying delicious food, and much more.

While admission is free, attendees are encouraged to participate in the numerous “pay-to-play” activities that will help raise funds for local veterans.
